   I think you are confusing the actual auctions with the web sites that sell directories to auctions. These directories are not necessarily scams, but they can be out of date and not provide good data. If you buy one, make sure the site has a money-back guarantee.

   If you are going to participate in auctions, don’t jump in and start bidding immediately. Take the time to observe how it works, how other people bid, and learn how to judge the value of the cars you bid on. It is too easy to get caught up in the excitement of bidding and pay too much.
